The twelfth launch of ATSC 3.0 in 2022 under the direction of BitPath has just taken place.
As a result, broadcast television stations owned by Gray Television, Nexstar Media Group, Sinclair Broadcast Group and Graham Media Group are now offering local consumers NEXTGEN TV — assuming they have a television capable of receiving the new digital TV broadcast standard.
As of Tuesday (9/27), Roanoke-Lynchburg DMA broadcast stations WSET-TV, owned by Sinclair; Gray Television’s WDBJ and WZBJ; WWCW, owned by Nexstar; and Graham Media Group’s WSLS are offering ATSC 3.0-powered NEXTGEN TV signals to the market.
WZBJ is serving as the lighthouse station for the four Roanoke market broadcast facilities.
The PBS Member station for Roanoke is not participating.
