The “Eyewitness News” team that features market veteran Ken Rosato (pictured, at left) in mornings will soon have a new News Director. He will succeed the late Rehan Aslam, who died in July following a year-long battle with an aggressive form of brain cancer.
Earning the position is Scott Matthews, who is already on board as VP/News Director of the ABC Owned Station serving the New York Tri-State Area, WABC-7.
He reports to President/GM Marilu Galvez, who comments, “Whether its hard-hitting investigative journalism, probing business reports, breaking news or long-form non-fiction features, Scott has a wealth of experience producing informative and engaging programming across platforms. I’m thrilled to have him on the team and am confident his wealth of experience in both local and national news will be a tremendous asset to our news operations.”
Matthews commented, “I am excited to join and lead the No. 1 news team in the country. Eyewitness News has a long history of telling important stories and bringing millions of viewers vital information that impacts their lives. I look forward to working along-side of the incredible individuals who produce the top-notch content that populates WABC 7’s media platforms.”
