The basic on-air product of WYSO-FM doesn’t figure to change much, and the names of the buyer and seller are similar, but the station is nonetheless changing hands, and the change carries a price tag in the millions. The station serves the Dayton OH market.
The seller of the station, licensed to Yellow Springs OH, is Antioch University. Neenah Ellis signed off on the application for the seller.
The buyer is Antioch College Corporation, headed by Mark Roosevelt.
The price is $3.7M cash.
The station blankets Dayton with a Class B signal on 91.3 MHz with 50 kW @ 400’. Its fringe contours approach Columbus to the east and Cincinnati to the south.
As a matter of contract, the buyer is required to apply to National Public Radio to take over the affiliation from the seller. The seller will provide all reasonable assistance to make that happen.
