Another Groggy Day For Dealmaking

Have media brokers hit the snooze bar a few too many times this month? August is shaping up to be a scarily quiet month for deal makers.

In today’s installment of RBR+TVBR‘s TRANSACTIONS TODAY, two translator swaps take top billing. It continues a trend of small deals seen as Capitol Hill — and many Inside the Beltway — wrap up their summer holidays this week.

In Las Cruces, N. Mex., Your Christian Companion Network is trading FM Translator K244FF to Bravo Mic Communications. The facility is presently dark and licensed for use at 96.7 MHz. K244FF bears a CP expiring in October 2018. The total purchase price is $32,500, with an escrow payment of $6,500 being made to Rockwell Media Services. Rockwell served as the broker for the seller; the seller’s legal counsel in this transaction Richard Helmick of Cohn & Marks LLP.

In Sterling, Alaska, FM translators K239AV and K232EH are being transferred from Kenai Broadcasting to KSRM Inc.

The Form 345 filing with the FCC made Tuesday (8/15) as part of KSRM Inc.’s acquisition of Class C3 KKNI-FM 105.3 in Sterling, Alaska, from Kenai Broadcasting for $200,000. That application inadvertently neglected to list the translator licenses, which are now being filed. The $200,000 price includes the two translators.
