She’s known as “Sweet Tea” on the radio and earlier this year gained control of a South Carolina FM through her Sweet Tea Radio LLC. Now, Sweet Tea — a.k.a. Christy Andrulonis — is a buyer once again at year’s end.
Hope Christian Church of Marlton Inc. is selling to Sweet Tea an FM translator serving Havre de Grace, Md., a city between Baltimore and Newark, Del.
The facility is W284BE, and a $50,000 price tag has been assigned to the transaction. A $10,000 downpayment has been made by Ms. Andrulonis to the New Jersey-based religious group.
While Hope Christian Church is the licensee of W284BE, it had been operated as a rebroadcast partner of Steve Clendenin’s “WHGM Gold,” based at WHGM-AM.
Astute RBR+TVBR readers now know why this deal is being consummated: Clendenin in April announced that Classic Hits WHGM-AM would be acquired by Sweet Tea along with FM translator W263CQ in Chesapeake City.
It’s not the first time Clendenin and Ms. Andrulonis agreed on a transaction. In September 2023, Clendenin’s Maryland Media One agreed to spin to Sweet Tea a Class A facility in Bolivia, N.C., that carries the WYAY-FM call letters.
