Australian broadcast technology company Tieline the Codec Company is gearing up to showcase its new IP audio codecs at the upcoming IBC 2024 conference and expo in Amsterdam.

The Bridge-IT II codec was first rolled out earlier this year at the NAB Show. However, IBC will serve as the the first opportunity to see the new Bridge-IT XTRA II.

“The new codecs are designed to deliver affordable, reliable, and high quality broadcast solutions for Studio-to-Transmitter Links (STLs), Studio-to-Studio Links (SSLs) and multi-unicasting and multicasting applications,” Tieline says.

Both codecs include a front panel screen and keypad for menu navigation, XLR analog and digital AES inputs, various encoding options, and support for multi-unicast and multicast connections.

New features to support modern networking requirements include:

  • Native support for AES67, ST2110-30, ST2022-7, Livewire, RAVENNA and AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05
  • Two full-duplex mono connections, or full duplex stereo
  • Multiple Ethernet and AoIP ports
  • Failover to another connection, HTTP stream, or audio file playback
  • Support for wireless cellular modems

“We are excited to present Tieline’s new Bridge-IT II and Bridge-IT XTRA II codecs at IBC for the first time,” said Charlie Gawley, Tieline’s VP of Sales for the APAC/EMEA territories. “There is significant interest already in both codecs due to their impressive feature-sets, which are available at an affordable price point for all broadcast professionals.”

The codecs support automated failover and SNMP for STL links.

SmartStream PLUS redundant streaming and Fuse-IP data aggregation are also included as standard. They also connect over SIP with devices that are EBU N/ACIP Tech 3326, 3347 and 3368 compliant. The ToolBox HTML5 web-GUI and optional Cloud Codec Controller software provide real-time monitoring and remote management of connections.

Tieline will be present at IBC at booth 8.F65.
