A Spanish-language radio broadcast ministry has agreed to sell a trio of full-power FM radio stations serving a good portion of California’s High Desert and Mojave regions, in addition to nine FM translators stretching from the Inland Empire through the Las Vegas market.
Who’s the buyer of the Ondas de Vida properties?
The pending new licensee is Educational Radio Foundation of East Texas Inc., affiliated with Encouragement Media Group — the owner of “The Voice of Encouragement,” KVNE-FM 89.5 in Tyler, Tex.
With Joe Chautin III of Hardy, Carey, Chautin & Balkin serving as the buyer’s legal counsel and Jeffrey Southmayd of Southmayd & Miller representing the seller, an asset purchase agreement submitted to the FCC for its regulatory approval reveals Encouragement Media Group President Troy Kriechbaum (pictured, at right) has agreed to a $1.05 million deal.
A 10% escrow deposit is being held by Chautin’s office in Mandeville, La.

KODV is a Class B facility at 89.1 MHz, while Class C2 KVID-FM 88.5 is a Las Vegas, Nev., rimshot coming from the Arizona/Nevada border north of the city via Interstate 15.
KLHM is presently silent and is licensed for broadcast at 88.1 MHz in the Victor Valley region of California.
What does this mean for Ondas de Vida? Some may believe the end is neigh, as its assets are reduced to KODD-FM in Bullhead City, Ariz., and FM translator K254CB in the Prescott Valley region of Arizona.
