Sandwiched between the Louisiana cities of Shreveport and Monroe are such towns as Ruston, and Arcadia. It is here that two FM stations serve the small communities located near Interstate 20.
They’re being spun to a new owner, a Ruston resident who is grabbing a facility awarded in 2012 in the FCC’s “Auction 93,” and its Class C2 sibling.
William W. Brown Sr.‘s North Louisiana Broadcasting Inc. is agreeing to sell KRLQ-FM 94.1 in Hodge — the Class C2 FM — and Class A KWXM-FM 102.3 in Simsboro.
The buyer is Alpha-Omega Broadcasting, wholly owned by Brandon Forester.
He’s paying $1.2 million for the FM pair.
But, it doesn’t include studio or office space. Brown will retain ownership, and lease it to Forester for $1,000 per month for the first two years, with a 5% yearly increase thereafter.
Serving as the legal counsel in this transaction is Mark Denbo of Smithwick & Belendiuk in Washington, D.C.
