Urban One has moved ahead with a series of strategic leadership appointments across several major markets at its Radio One broadcast arm, moves the publicly traded company says reinforces its “commitment to developing top talent and delivering excellence across its radio brands nationwide.”
In three markets, new Operations Managers have been named, with “A Plus” taking the role in Washington, D.C., where Urban One’s properties are comprised of WOL-AM, WYCB-AM “Spirit 1340,” WKYS-FM, WMMJ “Majic 102.3,” and WPRS “Praise 104.1.”
In Cleveland, Matt Myers is now OM for WENZ, WZAK, WERE, and WJMO. He was formerly OM for the company’s Richmond quartet, which will now see Erwin Hill, a.k.a. Katt D, handle the operations for WCDX, WKJS, WXGI, and WPZZ. Hill was formerly OM of Urban One in Raleigh.
Speaking of Raleigh-Durham, Melissa Wade has been promoted to Program Director of WFXC and WNNL, advancing from her role as Assistant Program Director at WNNL. Additionally, “Big Mo” joins the Raleigh cluster as Program Director of WQOK.
There are three other PD moves:
- DJ Supreme rises from Asst. PD to Program Director of WIZF in Cincinnati
- DJ Nailz is elevated to Program Director from Asst. PD of WCKX in Columbus, Ohio
- Robyn Simone rises from Asst. PD to Program Director of WXMG in Columbus, Ohio
