As Calif. Sports Gaming Vote Awaits, ‘The Spread’ Arrives

On Wednesday, October 5, CalMatters, a California policy and politics blog, offered an update on two ballot measures that have seen some $441 million in spending designed to gain enough public support to win the approval of Golden State voters come November 8.


“Both sports betting ballot measures are underwater,” CalMatters shared.

Twenty-four hours later, Cumulus Media hedged its bets that voter sentiments would change within the next month by dropping KGO-AM in San Francisco’s longtime News/Talk programming in favor of what TheDesk.net said would be a Sports Talk format focused on wagering and sports betting.

On Monday, that chatter was affirmed as “the Bay Area’s first Sports radio station focused on sports betting” formally arrived after nearly four days of stunting.
