Last night FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens, and all key demos. FOX outperformed the next highest-rated network by +38 among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, and by +100% among Teens.
At 8p the Top 12 contestants were revealed on a special AMERICAN IDOL (6.2/18) which won the hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos.
AMERICAN IDOL was on par with last Thursday’s telecast, down only slightly (-5% among Adults 18-49 and -2% in Total Viewers).
So far this season (Most Current ratings vs comparable Most Current), IDOL is retaining 93% of Adults 18-49, 95% of Adults 18-34, 96% of Teens and 94% of Total Viewers.
AMERICAN IDOL won its hour across the board, showing an advantage of +72% among Adults 18-49, +114% among Adults 18-34, +141% among Teens and +58% in Total Viewers over the next highest-rated network in the hour.
A special KITCHEN NIGHTMARES at 9p posted a 3.1/9 among Adults 18-49, down -6% from last week (vs. 3.3/9).
Competition
Following an 8p Grey’s repeat (1.1/3), original episodes of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (3.9/11) and Private Practice (2.9/9) were below their first-run season averages, dropping -24% and -17%, respectively.
CBS’ Survivor: All-Stars (3.6/11) delivered this season’s lowest regular episode. CSI (3.3/9) was also low and The Mentalist (3.4/10) was on par.
NBC’s Community (1.9/6) matched its lowest original of the season at 8p. Parks & Recreation (2.1/6) at 830p while The Office (3.8/11) at 9p both showed week-over-week declines, dropping -9% and -10%, respectively. Following an average 30 Rock (2.9/8) at 930p, episode three of new reality series The Marriage Ref (2.7/8) posted its lowest rating to date, dropping -21% from its time period premiere last Thursday (3.4/10) and showing steady losses with every episode on the air (4.9/14 > 3.4/10 > 2.7/8).
