It is licensed for 10kw with two daytime towers and three nighttime structures from a rural site in Wasco, Calif., to the northwest of Bakersfield. It is a home for Sports Talk, and earlier this month swapped frequencies with KERN-AM, taking 1180 kHz as a result.
Soon, it will have a new owner, and likely a new format. American General Media is donating the facility.
As such, KGEO-AM is being handed to Skyrise Unlimited Inc.
That’s a partnership between Martin Garza, Terri Blankenship and Doug Cowan.
And, it appears KGEO-AM will become a sibling to noncommercial KAXL-FM “88.3 Life FM,” which airs a Contemporary Christian format.
Handling the legal work are David Burns and F. Scott Pippin of Lerman Senter PLLC.
