One of the biggest advertising technology companies has turned to its Executive Chairman — a veteran of Tribune Media, Fox Broadcasting, Discovery Communications, and HBO — to serve as its next Chief Executive Officer.

At the same time, several “key leadership updates” have come to VideoAmp.

Now in the CEO chair is Peter Liguori, who has been a VideoAmp board member for five years. He’s charged with leading the company “into its next chapter as it scales adoption of its big data-led media optimization solutions and doubles down on innovation, automation and customer success.”

Liguori was Tribune Media’s chief executive from January 2013 through early 2017, joining Tribune to not only lead a newly split Tribune Media, but to also make it more profitable than the publishing side of Tribune Co. In 2012, the publishing division saw $2 billion in revenue. By comparison, the television division saw $1.14 billion in revenue.  It was a statement of renewed vigor for Tribune Co., which started 2013 by abandoning Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and the arrival of Liguori from Discovery Communications, where he served as COO. Before joining Discovery in 2009, Liguori served as Chairman of Fox Broadcasting Company’s entertainment division. From 1998-2005, he was President/CEO of FX Networks, overseeing business and programming operations for Fox’s FX and Fox Movie Channel. He’s also worked at Home Box Office (HBO) and in the advertising industry at both Ogilvy & Mather and Saatchi & Saatchi. Additionally, Liguori served on the Board of Directors of Yahoo! from April 2012 to June 2014.

“Peter’s strategic vision, combined with the strength of the new leadership team, ensures VideoAmp is well-positioned to drive innovation and deliver for clients in a rapidly evolving industry,” said VideoAmp board member Pete Fisher, Senior Managing Director at Vista Credit Partners.

With Liguori now CEO, VideoAmp has made the additional executive leadership changes:

  • Bryan Goski has been promoted to Chief Revenue Officer, overseeing client partnerships and customer success across agencies, brands and media owners.
  • Sharon Lee has been elevated to Chief Legal Officer, overseeing the company’s legal strategies and affairs and managing the company’s regulatory compliance.
  • Megan Opp has joined as Chief People Officer, leading talent, culture and organizational development.
  • Dustin Jackson will join as Chief Technology Officer, and was previously SVP of Engineering at Celonis. Before that, he served as VP of Engineering at Google, where he led ad planning and customer engagement.
