On April 6, 1998, their morning show first arrived on Charlotte radio at WNKS “Kiss 95.1.” In May 2011, the two hosts exited the Top 40 station and in January 2012 resurfaced at crosstown WHQC “Channel 96.1.” That relationship ended in August 2021, when the program was dropped from the iHeartMedia station and, later, became a self-syndicated wholly owned offering.

Now, “The ACE & TJ Show” has come to its end, and a new incarnation is already in the works.

In a post to the show’s Facebook page made on Friday morning, the following message appears:

The TJ & Riggins Show begins Monday, September 23. Expect much of the same content and products with some new additions to be announced soon. Ace is no longer associated with the show.

Five hours after the announcement, some 2,700 Facebook users reacted to the news. The new program will see Ritchie “TJ” Beams now team with Bryan “Riggins” Weber, with the departure of David “Ace” Cannon.

In Charlotte, The ACE & TJ Show has been airing in afternoons on Beasley Media Group’s Classic Adult Contemporary WKQC “K104.7” for the past four months, making a shift from its second tenure at WNKS. It replaced Phil Harris and Mel Myers as a syndicated offering, with Harris and Myers’ exit from K104.7 tied to budget cuts across Beasley.

The ACE & TJ Show also airs in other markets across the South as a self-syndicated offering, airing at stations in Birmingham; Paducah, Ky.-Cape Girardeau, Mo.; Columbia, S.C.; Florence, S.C.; Greenville-New Bern, N.C.; Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C.; Knoxville; Louisville; Paris, Tenn.; Richmond; Springfield, Mo.; and Winchester, Va., according to the show’s website.
