He began his radio career in New Orleans and has experience that includes serving as a VP/GM and Chief Operating Officer for Apex Broadcasting, and as VP of Radio for Griffin Communications. He’s been on his second tour of duty at Cox Media Group since 2019, and in one month he’s transferring from San Antonio to Atlanta to take the helm of the company’s radio properties in its home market.
Starting February 17, David Abel will hold the role of VP/Market Manager for CMG Atlanta Radio.

Abel will oversee Talk WSB-AM & WSBB-FM, Adult Contemporary WSB-FM, R&B WALR-FM, and Classic Hits WSRV-FM.
