ABC News is making the most of its exclusive first interview of GOP Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin. A special edition of “20/20” has now been scheduled for this evening at 10:00 pm, featuring the interview by Charles Gibson and other material about the Alaska Governor. The first excerpts from Gibson’s interview appeared last evening on ABC’s “World News.”

ABC News is going all out with the Palin exclusive, making portions available on multiple platforms, including ABC News Radio, ABC News NOW, ABCNEWS.com and ABC NewsOne.

“20/20” – “The Interview: Sarah Palin with Charles Gibson” – will feature material from Gibson’s two interviews with Palin this week from Fairbanks and Wasilla, AK. Kate Snow will report on the personal and professional background of Governor Palin leading up to her nomination, and George Stephanopoulos will moderate a live roundtable discussion on the state of the presidential race.

Along with airing last evening on “World News with Charles Gibson” and “Nightline,” ABC News is featuring material from the Palin interviews today on “Good Morning America” and then on this evening’s “World News” before the one-hour “20/20.”

RBR/TVBR observation: Hey, what about ESPN? Couldn’t Charlie ask a question about hockey or something so there’d be a justification for putting a clip on SportsCenter?
