A Wynn Win Deal For Sirius XM

The casino resort hotel that serves as the unofficial hub for broadcast industry leaders across the annual NAB Show in Las Vegas is celebrating the opening of a “state-of-the-art” broadcast studio located inside its sprawling Strip facility.

Just don’t expect to see any over-the-air radio talent using the studio for work associated with an AM or FM station.

That’s because the studio within the Wynn Las Vegas is for the exclusive branded use of SiriusXM.

To commemorate the studio’s first-ever use, a live broadcast on Wednesday (6/5) is in the works featuring John Mayer, the singer-songwriter whose curated Life with John Mayer has attracted SiriusXM consumers to Channel 14.

The special live-from-Las Vegas episode will feature Mayer playing his favorite songs and artists as well as taking phone calls from listeners around the country.

Mayer is in Las Vegas for a residency, as Dead & Company has performances at The Sphere through August 10.

“Las Vegas is the perfect new home for SiriusXM as it continues its studio expansion across North America,” SiriusXM said. “The SiriusXM Studio at Wynn Las Vegas” will be home to a variety of programming, including a new series hosted by iconic hip-hop artist and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Flavor Flav: “Flavor Flav’s Flavor of the Week.” The program bows June 10 and will air weekly on the LL COOL J’s Rock The Bells Radio channel.

“The SiriusXM Studio at Wynn Las Vegas” joins SiriusXM’s broadcast studios at its headquarters in New York City’s Rockefeller Center; legacy Washington, D.C., facilities in the heart of the nation’s capital, where XM Satellite Radio once had its headquarters prior to its merger with Sirius; and spaces in West Hollywood, Calif.; Miami Beach, Fla.; and in Nashville.

SiriusXM President/Chief Content Officer Scott Greenstein said, “Finding a home inside Wynn Las Vegas and putting our state-of-the-art broadcast facility right on the Las Vegas Strip was a perfect match, and we look forward to bringing listeners across the nation right into the action 365 days a year.”

Brian Gullbrants, Chief Operating Officer for North America at Wynn Resorts, added, “Our collaboration with SiriusXM complements our entertainment offering. The diverse programming and fresh roster of talent visiting the studio will offer listeners from afar a glimpse of the excitement that can only be found at Wynn.”

Additional SiriusXM personalities broadcasting regularly from The SiriusXM Studio at Wynn Las Vegas include Mad Dog Sports Radio host JT the Brick; Shannon Gunz, who hosts on Ozzy’s Boneyard as well as SiriusXM’s Octane and Turbo channels; and Eddie Trunk, host on SiriusXM’s Faction Talk, Hair Nation and Volume channels.
