If there ever was a big week for big department stores, this was it.
No less than three national retailers boost their ad spend at broadcast television — a sign that attracting consumer attention through fall premieres on the Big Four networks, or on live sporting events, is still key for strong ROI.
In the freshest Media Monitors TV Spot Ten report, JCPenney moved up to first place, with 17,901 spots. It marks a return to the Spot Ten for the retailer, having spent last week at No. 11.
Also storming back into the Spot Ten is Macy’s, jumping from No. 20 to No. 5 and clearing 14,931 ads.
Meanwhile, Target jumped from No. 13 to No. 6, also coming back into the Spot Ten, with 13,604 commercials.
Meanwhile, expanded efforts from Humana, L’Oréal and Rooms To Go are also noteworthy in a big week for broadcast television.
