One month ago, a radio broadcasting company led by David Rowell signed off on an asset purchase agreement that will give it ownership of a Class B FM located between Victoria and metropolitan Houston, Tex.
Now, Rowell’s buying a second FM in the region, a 100kw Class C1 property licensed to Bay City, Tex., covering the same areas as the Class B property.
Rowell’s Bay and Beyond Broadcasting, which is in the process of purchasing KIOX-FM 96.1 in Edna, Tex., for $360,000, is agreeing to purchase KMKS-FM 102.5 in Bay City.
The seller is Larry Sandlin, who assumed control of “Hot Country 102.5” in June 2021 following the passing of his wife, Margaret Sandlin, at the age of 75. She had 100% ownership of KMKS.
Now, Sandlin is agreeing to sell KMKS for $100,000.
The full payment amount has been delivered to Fletcher Heald & Hildreth, which is serving as the escrow agent in this transaction.
