A noncommercial FM radio station licensed to Jonesboro, Tex., that is presently silent under special temporary authority with the FCC is being acquired by a religious institution that’s more about Jesus Christ than the “solid rock” one may have heard on stations like WLS some 55 years ago.
The Solid Rock Foundation, a non-profit based in Wheeler, Tex., is acquiring KKSH-FM 90.3 in Jonesboro, Ark., from Alpha Consulting Christian Education.
With Turbo Tech Services LLC, led by Jim Turvaville, assisting, terms call for Solid Rock to pay $10,000 for the facility.
The buyer is a three-way partnership in which one-third ownership is held by Garrett, Karla and Gary Ware, respectively.
