A Revolution Is Coming To Las Vegas’ Dance Scene

Across Italy, Marco Mazzoli is known for his involvement with the Radio 105 network of dance-flavored Top 40 stations heard across the nation. In the U.S., he’s been associated with a group of FM signals in South Florida for nearly a decade. Now, Mazzoli-led ANCO Media Group are ready to bring their radio “Revolution” to Sin City.

ANCO, which sees Mazzoli holding 40% ownership and Stefania Pittaluga maintain 11% equity interest following an ownership interest shift, has struck a deal with Richard Heftel-led Heftel Broadcasting Company to purchase the following stations serving communities along Interstate 15 between Las Vegas and Barstow, Calif.:

Call Sign Facility ID File Number Service City, State
KRXV 34554 0000282006 FM YERMO, CA
KIXW-FM 68413 0000282007 FM LENWOOD, CA
KHYZ 34555 0000282008 FM MOUNTAIN PASS, CA
KHWY 34556 0000282009 FM ESSEX, CA
KHYZ-FM2 178524 0000282010 FB LAS VEGAS, NV
KIXF 68412 0000282011 FM BAKER, CA
KRXV-FM1 203576 0000282012 FB VICTORVILLE, CA

With Melissa G. Repp of Repp Law Firm serving as Heftel’s legal representative and Kathryne Dickerson of Greenberg Traurig acting as ANCO’s legal counsel, paperwork submitted to the FCC for its regulatory approval indicates Heftel will earn $1.4 million from the deal.

Key to the valuation is Class B KHYZ, which can be heard across most of Las Vegas and nearby Laughlin, Nev., thanks to a booster atop Arden Peak in Henderson, Nev.

KRXV serves the region between Barstow and the Victor Valley, to the south; KIXW focuses on Barstow, while KHWY is a facility covering Needles, Calif.; Bullhead City, Ariz.; and Laughlin, Nev.

A $150,000 deposit has been made by ANCO, which is the licensee of the “Revolution” dance-flavored Rhythmic Top 40 network comprised of WBGF-FM 93.5 in Belle Glade, Fla.; Class C2 WZFL-FM 93.5 in Islamorada and key Miami-based translator W228BY at 93.5 MHz.

KHDR-FM and KHRQ-FM, which serve Barstow and Baker, Calif., as “The Drive,” are not included in this transaction and remain Heftel properties.

Serving as the exclusive broker in this transaction is Michael Bergner of Bergner & Co. in Boca Raton, Fla.
