A ‘Priority’ Spin, Three Years After Its Purchase

For the past three years, the Southern New Jersey communities of Clementon and Berlin have been able to tune to an FM translator used to rebroadcast “Ritmo FM,” originating from the HD3 multicast signal associated with WPEN-FM in Philadelphia.

Soon, this will change, thanks to a transaction that awaits FCC approval.

Miguel Amador and his Ritmo Broadcasting LLC has signed off on the sale of W281CL in Cherry Hill, N.J., to The Voice Radio New Jersey.

Amador is making a small profit on his ownership of the FM translator. In December 2020, his company agreed to acquire W281CL for $75,000. Now, he’s selling it for $90,000, with a $40,000 escrow deposit made by the buyer.

The Voice Radio New Jersey is led by Edwin Andrade, who acquired W298DI at 107.5 MHz — serving southern New Jersey communities as Woodstown and Glassboro — in April 2023.

At 104.1 MHz, W281CL must limit its coverage area so it does not interfere with WAEB-FM in Allentown, an iHeartMedia Top 40 station to the north.
