In August 2021, RBR+TVBR first shared the news that Larry Fuss was once again poised to become the owner of a 1,000-watt AM and its FM translator serving a small city in Mississippi. Why? A reversal of his 2011 sale of the properties was in the works, as the buyer couldn’t keep up with his payment schedule and was some $50,000 behind.
Now, Fuss has a buyer for the properties.
Fuss and his Contemporary Communications are agreeing to sell WROX-AM and FM translator W248CL in Clarksdale, Miss., to WROX LLC, headed by Terry Ballard.
The transaction is valued at $150,000; a 10% deposit has been made to Fuss.
That’s the price agreed to by LL James Media, an entity led by Paul Wilson, some 10 years ago. Wilson signed off on a transaction that saw $25,000 placed in escrow and the execution of a $125,000 Promissory Note. But, hard times prevented Wilson from honoring the Note.
As such, the deal was negated.
