Financial stocks fell after Bank of America announced a big equity offering so it can pay off its government TARP infusion, although BofA itself rebounded by the close. Also, traders were gloomy about a negative report on the service sector from the Institute for Supply Management. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 87 points, or 0.8%, to 10,366. Nearly all radio and TV stocks were lower as well.
The RBR Radio Index was down 10.183, or 5.4%, to 177.641.
The TVBR Television Index was down 2.372, or 2.2%, to 106.360.
