On Saturday, May 20, WADL-38 will celebrate the 34th anniversary of the UHF station serving the Motor City’s sign-on. Franklin Z. Adell, previously the owner of an automotive parts supplier company, launched the property, with son Kevin Adell joining the new family business following his graduation from Arizona State University.

Now, with ATSC 3.0 upgrades reshaping the broadcast television industry, the Adell family is selling the station. The buyer is a close shared services partner of the nation’s No. 1 owner of broadcast TV stations.
