In January 2020, the owner of a Class A FM in rural Kentucky offering listeners an Americana format passed away.

Now, the license of the station is formally being passed on to the deceased owner’s wife.

WHAY-FM 98.3 in Whitley City, Ky., is being transferred from the Estate of Tim Lavender to H-L Com Inc., of which Linda Stephens Lavender is the sole owner.

Pursuant to the Order of Probate, issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky, 34th Judicial District, McCreary District Court, Probate No. 20-P-00016, Linda Stephens Lavender was appointed as Administrix of Mr. Lavender’s estate.

On November 2, 2021, the FCC granted the application for the pro forma assignment of WHAY to Mrs. Lavender as Administrix of her late husband’s estate.

Now, it is being placed solely in Mrs. Lavender’s care.
