A Hard Commitment to Spot Cable For a Soft Drink Giant

There’s a new leader at Spot Cable when it comes to the total amount of commercial appearances for the week ending May 10, based on data collected by iHeartMedia-owned Media Monitors. It happens to be one of the oldest brands in the U.S., and its activity even eclipsed that of Liberty Mutual Insurance.

As shown below, Coca-Cola has emerged as a leader in national spot cable advertising — a welcomed return to linear media marketing for a brand that has experienced diminished ROI in recent years against Pepsico and an array of other brands.

The 71,118 spot plays come in just ahead of Liberty Mutual, which remains the big leader at Spot Cable among all auto insurance brands.

Meanwhile, new activity from Tempur-Pedic puts the mattress category back in action, joining Sleep Number in the cable space.

How does the Spot TV report compare?

Here, Progressive and Liberty Mutual Insurance continue to duke it out as Pharma brands and accident attorney specialist Morgan & Morgan retain their high-level activity.
