A Golden Acquisition for Christy Andrulonis

It airs a classic Oldies format and features the voicework of John Tesh via syndication in the midday hour. Until now, it has aired on a 5kw daytime/500 watt nighttime AM radio station feeding two FM translators.

This is likely about to change, as the AM and one of the translator, which serves Chesapeake City, Md., and parts of Delaware, have been sold to an entity led by Christy Andrulonis.

The seller is Steve Clendenin, as he decides to sell WHGM-AM 1330 in Havre de Grace, Md., and FM translator W263CQ in Chesapeake City to Andrulonis’ Sweet Tea Radio.

It’s not the first time Clendenin and Ms. Andrulonis agreed on a transaction. In September 2023, Clendenin’s Maryland Media One agreed to spin to Sweet Tea a Class A facility in Bolivia, N.C., that carries the WYAY-FM call letters.

Now, MMO is spinning ‘HGM and W263CQ to Sweet Tea for precisely 1/3 of $1 million, or $333,364.83.

A detailed inventory list accompanies the asset purchase agreement filed with the FCC for regulatory approval.

Andrulonis assumed control of the facilities today (4/1), via a Time Brokerage Agreement.

Meanwhile, the second FM translator used for WHGM, W284BE, remains the property of Hope Christian Church of Marlton Inc.; it had been leased by Clendenin.
