A 1,000-watt Class C AM radio station serving Fort Smith, Ark., is poised to become the property of a company that shares its name with a popular chocolate candy snack. That’s because Pharis Broadcasting is abandoning “Fort Smith’s Straight Talk” by handing the “Marshal” to a new boss.
Talker KFPW-AM 1230 “The Marshal” is poised to become the property of M&M Media LLC.
A $5,000 cash payment is being made to the Pharis family, bringing the Talk station to an entity based in Oklahoma that is led by Melinda Martin.
M&M is led by Melinda and Edwin Martin, and they currently have attributable interests in G2 Media Group LLC, owner of KAGE-AM in Van Buren, Ark.; KXMX-FM in Muldrow, Okla.; and KFSW-AM in Fort Smith.
