On June 30, 2020, iHeartMedia brought to life a 24/7 nationally distributed audio services “dedicated to providing an objective, accurate and trusted source of continual news coverage with a Black voice and perspective.” Today, BIN: Black Information Network continues to meet that objective for iHeartMedia and for African American audiences across the U.S.
“BIN: Black Information Network has become a trusted and indispensable voice for Black communities in America,” said BIN President Tony Coles, a veteran radio programming leader. “In just five years, we’ve transformed how local and national news reaches our audiences. We are giving a voice to the stories that have gone untold for too long. We are providing freedom to journalists to pursue meaningful reporting – and we’re just getting started.”
According to iHeartMedia, BIN has grown its audience to more than 19 million monthly listeners, with BIN News content now heard on more than 100 broadcast radio stations across the U.S.
Additionally, BIN offers news coverage focused directly on 65 of America’s largest Black communities.
