To the majority of individuals in the broadcast media world, the name Caroline Beasley and that of her family members found in various executive positions across Beasley Media Group are household names.
Yet, there’s another Beasley who has not only been a radio station owner, but also a morning show host at a Country music station in the Peach State.
It is this Beasley who has decided to sell an AM/FM combo in Milledgeville, Ga., a small town northeast of Macon, Ga.
In a deal with a total value of $25,425, WMVG Inc.— led by “jack of all trades” Randy Beasley—has decided to sell WMVG-AM 1450 and WKZR-FM 102.3 in Milledgeville to Oconee Communications Co.
Oconee is led by Managing Member KJ Kendrick. He hold a 24% stake in Oconee River Broadcasting, licensee of WYZI-AM in Royston, Ga.
WMVG is presently airing Sports Talk programming and has been an ESPN Radio affiliate, while WKZR is known as “Country 102.”
At WKZR, Randy Beasley has been the morning host, General Manager, Program Director and News Director.
With the sale of WMVG Inc. to Oconee, Beasley isn’t likely to disappear from the radio airwaves. That’s because he hosts the newscasts on Oconee’s WULK-FM “Lake Country 94.7” in Lake Oconee, Ga.
