Disney Entertainment Television’s new money chief didn’t have to move far for the job. A finance executive with nearly a decade at the company, most of it around Freeform and ABC, is now the division’s CFO, with the networks, stations, and news group under his purview.
Amit Ziv shared the news of his promotion to CFO of Disney Entertainment Television on social media. Ziv most recently served as SVP, strategy and finance, for the division, a role he has held since 2023. In it, he oversaw planning and P&L across ABC Entertainment, ABC News, Disney’s owned television stations, Disney’s kids and family networks, and Freeform.
He joined Disney in January 2017 at Freeform, then ABC Family, as VP, strategy, finance, and business development. In April 2019, he moved to ABC Entertainment as VP, strategy, finance, and business planning, where his work included the network’s P&L, long-range planning, and content deal strategy. In 2023, he moved up to the division level.
Before Disney, Ziv spent four years at EPIX, rising to SVP, business operations, development, and strategy, with a focus on distribution deals. He started his career as a business development director at Madwood Studios and was an advisory associate in media and entertainment at Ernst & Young.
