Tom Birch’s Radio Group Inks TSQ White Label Digital Deal

The radio broadcasting company owned by President Tom Birch has become the latest operator of AM and FM stations to gain access to Townsquare Ignite’s digital advertising platform.

The deal with Townsquare Media brings the white label service to its six stations to the north of Raleigh-Durham — largely known nationally for its fight against FM translator interference to one of its FMs in the region.

Lakes Media Network operates properties in Southern Virginia and Northern North Carolina: WLUS-FM “US 98.3” in Clarksville, Va.; WMPW “Legends 105.9” and WWDN “104.5 The Dan” in Danville, Va.; WHLF-FM 95.3 in South Boston, Va.; and WKSK “Rewind 101.9” in South Hill, Va.

It is WLUS-FM that has given Birch national recognition as an independent operator who has successfully fought the FCC over no less than three FM translator interference claims, the latest one concluding in April 2026.

Birch commented, “We are pleased to partner with Townsquare Ignite to deliver our local and regional clients an unparalleled opportunity to access data and to develop comprehensive strategies for multi-channel customers for lead generation, acquisition, and engagement.”

Townsquare launched its Media Partnerships division within Ignite in 2024, offering other local media companies a white-label version of its digital advertising tools. For Townsquare Ignite Chief Revenue Officer Shaun Collignon, “Lakes Media Network has built a strong local radio franchise with deep relationships with advertisers across a broad regional footprint spanning two states.”

Townsquare Ignite in August added Keith Stover’s Midlands Media Group as its 16th strategic alliance, following a partnership with North Carolina’s Muirfield Broadcasting announced earlier in the month. In May, Townsquare said in its first-quarter earnings report that the Media Partnerships division roughly doubled its revenue year over year.
