Fans of the National Hockey League’s Carolina Hurricanes have a new broadcast TV partnership in place, and thanks to Capitol Broadcasting Corp., there’ll be a “Hockey Night in Carolina” … if you will.
The actual name of the Hurricanes broadcasts is “Saturday Night Hockey,” and the games will appear on WRAL-TV, the Raleigh-Durham station owned by a company that, ironically, likes to use “CBC” as its short-hand moniker.
Sibling WRAZ “FOX 50” in Raleigh will also be in the mix across the upcoming 2026-2027 season.
“The Canes have such a loyal following, and we’re glad we can make these games available to more people,” said Heather Gray, VP/GM of the stations. “It’s a great way for fans to spend a Saturday night, and we’re excited to be part of it.”
Interestingly, the Hurricanes telecasts will begin on a Friday — October 2. On that night, a 7pm matchup between the team and its biggest regional rival, the Washington Capitals.
From there, Saturday matchups are in place, with the following schedule in place:
Saturday, Dec. 5, 7pm — Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Dec. 26, 7pm — Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Jan. 2, 7pm — Nashville Predators vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Jan. 23, 7pm — Anaheim Ducks vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Jan. 30, 7pm — Los Angeles Kings vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Feb. 13, 7pm — Buffalo Sabres vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Feb. 27, 7pm — Tampa Bay Lightning vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Mar. 13, 7pm — New Jersey Devils vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Saturday, Apr. 3, 7pm — New Jersey Devils vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Final game selections, broadcast times and station assignments between WRAL and FOX 50 will be announced as they are confirmed.
The broadcasts are part of a broader partnership between WRAL and the Hurricanes.

The Carolina Hurricanes are the 2026 Stanley Cup Champions and have called Raleigh home since 1997, when they moved from Connecticut, where they were the Hartford Whalers.
