Since the early 1990s, a Class C1 FM with 50kw of broadcast power has served fans of Christian Contemporary Music as a key hub for the “WAY FM” noncommercial service, today a part of Hope Media Group. From a broadcast tower in Wellington, Fla., it has reached listeners across the Palm Beaches, the Treasure Coast and much of Broward County.
Reception south of Fort Lauderdale, however, has been hampered by the presence of a Class A FM on the same frequency, serving southwest Miami-Dade County.
Hope Media Group just solved that problem by buying the station preventing it from reaching all points south of Hollywood and Pembroke Pines.
