Travel to Mackinac Island and nearby Mackinaw City, Mich., and you’ll be able to tune to a Class C2 FM with 50kw that today is one-half of a pair of radio stations offering Classic Hits under “The Bridge” branding.
Soon, this FM will be paving another path — one that will bring “life changing radio” and faith-based programming as it adds an eighth FM signal.
That’s because The Promise FM has struck a deal through its parent, Northern Christian Radio, to purchase WSBX-FM in Mackinaw City, Mich., from Bill Sours’ Whiskey Sours Broadcasting and Productions LLC.
A $200,000 purchase price has been agreed to by the parties, in a broker-free deal that includes an eight-bay Dielectric DCRH FM antenna; a GatesAir Flexiva GX10 transmitter; and an Omnia Volt FM audio processor.
Serving as the buyer’s legal counsel is Kathleen Victory of Fletcher Heald & Hildreth.
A noncommercial FM conversion request is being submitted to the Commission along with the Form 314 filing seeking approval of the transfer of control of WSBX.
