RNN Chooses NewsCloud for Localization and Distribution

Independent nationally distributed Radio Network News (RNN) has officially launched in the United States, and is doing so by using the NewsCloud platform.

NewsCloud is described as “a modern newsroom efficiency and productivity” product.

It’s a creation of Radio.Cloud, and the cloud-based platform provides a central hub for journalists and anchors to write, localize, produce, and distribute newscasts “at scale.”

RNN comes following the demise of CBS News Radio, with Red Apple Media seeking to capitalize with the recent launch of its own post-CBS audio news and information service provider to radio.

Radio.Cloud Account Director Andrew Scaglione comments, “With the end of CBS News Radio, we’re excited to step in and provide RNN with all the tools to offer custom, local newscasts to stations.”

“Our goal from day one was to move away from the traditional, harsh, compressed sound of legacy wire services,” said Dan Warren, Founder of Radio Network News. “We wanted to bring a modern, authoritative, high-end news podcast aesthetic to commercial radio—something that stands completely on its own two feet. By partnering with NewsCloud, our anchors can deliver that premium, intimate sound while dynamically adapting the content so it feels hyper-local and immediately relevant to every single affiliate market we serve”.

As Radio.Cloud explains, NewsCloud “empowers one anchor to produce hundreds of different versions of a newscast each hour, and send out those newscasts in a matter of seconds. The technology enables much more productivity and efficiency than previously possible, allowing journalists to serve listeners with updated and relevant news specific to their locale every hour.”

RNN is being marketed as “a forward-thinking broadcast news organization dedicated to providing context-driven, premium news bulletins to radio affiliates across North America.”
