It serves Union County, S.C., “and beyond” with a 1kw AM radio station and its FM translator, offering Country music to a region to the southeast of Spartanburg.

Pending FCC approval, these broadcast facilities will be under new ownership.

WBCU-AM 1460 and W278BE in Union, S.C., are being sold by Union-Carolina Broadcasting Co. to WBCU Radio LLC.

This puts ownership of WBCU in the hands of Ryan Delaney, with the seller’s James C. Woodson signing off on the Asset Sale Agreement.

A $335,000 purchase price has been agreed to, with a $34,000 escrow deposit held at The Law Office of Dan J. Alpert. Of the total purchase price, $85,000 is being allocated to real property.

WBCU gained its FM translator in 2008 while the AM station first signed on the air in 1949.
