Nexstar Station To Host Virginia Senator Race Debate

MONTCLAIR, VA. — The Nexstar Media Group-owned broadcast TV station serving the Hampton Roads region of Virginia will serve as the host for the October 2 debate between the Republican and Democratic candidates for U.S. Senator from the state.


Republican Hung Cao faces incumbent Democrat Tim Kaine, and WAVY-10 in Norfolk will serve as the presenting station for the debate, scheduled for 7pm on the first Wednesday of October at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center on the campus of Norfolk State University.

Other stations airing the debate include Nexstar-owned ABC affiliate WRIC-8 in Richmond, WFXR-27 “FOX Roanoke,” and WDVM-25 “DC News Now” in the Washington, D.C., DMA.

Moderators for the debate are Tom Schaad of WAVY and Deanna Allbrittin of WRIC.

Nexstar-owned NewsNation will offer a simulcast of the debate, bringing it a national audience.
