He joined Cumulus Media‘s San Francisco-Oakland radio stations 22 years ago as the midday producer for storied Sports Talker KNBR-AM 680.

Now, he’s been appointed Program Director for that station, its FM sibling, and Cumulus’ two other spoken word AM radio stations serving the Bay Area.

Earning the promotion to PD is Mike Hohler, putting him in the top position with respect to what comes out of the speakers at KNBR-AM, simulcast partner KNBR-FM 104.5 (formerly KFOG), Sports Betting-focused KGO “The Spread 810 AM,” and “KNBR2” Sports Talk cousin KTCT-AM 1050.

Hohler reports to RVP/Market Manager Larry Blumhagen. He said, “I am excited to see Mike take the reins as Program Director of these dynamic, listener-driven stations. Mike has been a dedicated member of this terrific team for over two decades and knows every working part of our programming operations. He has meaningful relationships with our broadcast partners, which he will continue to build upon and grow in his new leadership role.”

In addition, Cumulus/San Francisco has promoted John Kerley, Producer of the Murph and Markus morning show on KNBR, to Assistant Program Director for the three radio brands.

He will continue in his role as KNBR morning show producer.

Both appointments are effective Monday.
