TORONTO — The parent of broadcast media company Bell Media, which enjoys a close relationship with iHeartMedia for its radio stations across Canada, has announced when it will hold its Q4 2023 and 2024 guidance call for investors and analysts.

What can those with shares in BCE Inc. expect to hear from President/CEO Mirko Bibic and CFO Curtis Millen?

Further earnings declines could be in the forecast.

The financial community will get their up-close look at BCE’s Q4 2023 earnings report on Thursday, February 8, 2024, with a sunrise earnings call with Bibic and Millen set for 8am Eastern.

BCE, which trades on the NYSE and TSX, has had its challenges. However, the company’s stock price has appeared to have ceased its decline, which pushed values down to $36.39 in early October 2023. Shares completed Friday’s trading at $40.89.

That said, Simply Wall St. on January 8 noted that BCE Inc. long-term shareholders suffered an 11% share price decline year-over-year.

While that’s downbeat news, there’s a silver lining.

“While the last year has been tough for BCE shareholders, this past week has shown signs of promise,” Simply Wall St. notes.

Bell Media and iHeartMedia in January 2016 forged a partnership that brought the iHeartRadio brand to Canada. More recently, this relationship created national brands such as Pure Country and reaffirmed Bell Media’s commitment to Top 40-formatted Virgin Radio in Canada.

A BIG SHIFT FOR JOSIE DYE

On Friday afternoon, through iHeartRadio Canada, a major Toronto air personality move was announced. Josie Dye, the lead host of the morning show on independently owned Alternative CIND “Indie 88” alongside “Matt and Carlin,” has joined the top Hot Adult Contemporary FM in the market, CHUM-FM 104.5. Dye is in afternoon drive, and can be heard from 3pm-6pm.

“CHUM 104.5 has always been my radio dream job,” said Dye. “I’m incredibly excited to join the team and explore this next chapter in my life!”

CHUM-FM Program Directror Heidi Baiden added, “I’ve been a fan of Josie’s for years, and am thrilled she is joining the legendary on-air lineup at CHUM 104.5. She is a creative, energetic host who is beloved by listeners, and I know they will enjoy engaging with her as she plays Toronto’s Best Music and shares her love of the city.”
