‘The Knox’ Wins Its Upgrade Request

It’s an unaffiliated broadcast TV station known to locals as “The Knox,” and it uses digital channel 7 to reach Knoxville and its vicinity. In the digital world, that means reception issues are aplenty for WKNX-TV.


As such, the station’s owner in July requested a shift to a vacant UHF channel. The FCC  opened a comment period for the public’s response to the plan. Now, the Commission’s Video Division chief has said yes to the proposal.
