He’s been with Westwood One, the Cumulus Media-owned national radio entity, since joining in May 2005 as an Account Executive. Until now, he’s held the role of EVP/Sales and Sports Partnerships, a promotion earned in February 2021.

Now, this Chicago-based 18-year WWO pro has been elevated to President of Sales.

Earning the promotion is Brandon Berman.

But, perhaps the bigger news is that he’s succeeding Ron Russo, who is leaving the company to pursue other opportunities.

“Brandon is a natural leader with a smart, strategic approach to the business that will enable us to manage through these economic headwinds and beyond with confidence, commitment, resilience, and results,” said Suzanne Grimes, President of Westwood One. “With his unparalleled command of our powerhouse sports business, proven success with integrated, and multi-platform client-focused selling, Brandon is uniquely well-suited to lead the team.”

Ron RussoRusso rose to President of Sales in February 2021, from EVP of Sales. He joined Westwood One in June 2015, three months after exiting the role of General Sales Manager for an iHeartMedia local station group. He joined iHeartMedia in 2008, following a tenure in local radio sales at the former CBS Radio. From 1998-2003, he served as Broadcast Media Supervisor for Macy’s.
