Standard General Makes ‘Additional Unprecedented Commitments’ to Union

LAS VEGAS — The clock is ticking, and as much as NAB President/CEO Curtis LeGeyt wants regulatory approval as soon as possible, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel — both present at the NAB Show’s Welcome Session on Monday morning — is committed to a Media Bureau Hearing Designation Order that imperils Standard General‘s proposed acquisition of TEGNA.


Standard General, led by Soohyung Kim, desperately needs the FCC to approve it, and has taken the agency to court to do what the judiciary system can to push the Commission to give it the OK to move forward. Financing expires in roughly one month.

That’s why Standard General on Monday said it is “proud to make additional commitments to representatives of The NewsGuild-CWA and National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-CWA (TNG-NABET).
