The FCC’s Communications Equity and Diversity Council (CEDC) will gather online on February 23.
The agenda for what will transpire has been released by the Commission.
The CEDC meeting will be held virtually, beginning at 10am Eastern, and will be available to the public for viewing at http://www.fcc.gov/live.
On the agenda is a discussion of the proposed workstreams for the three CEDC working groups (Innovation and Access, Digital Empowerment and Inclusion, and Diversity and Equity) during the two-year charter.
The workstreams will provide a roadmap for how each working group will support the Council’s mission to make recommendations to the Commission on advancing equity in the provision of, and access to, digital communication services and products for all people of the United States, without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, or disability.
Following opening remarks from newly appointed Media Bureau Chief Holly Saurer, FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel will make welcome remarks, as will Jamila Bess Johnson, Designated Federal Officer of the Media Bureau; Rashann Duvall, Co-Deputy Designated Federal Officer for the Wireline Communications Bureau; and Keyla Hernandez-Ulloa, Co-Deputy Designated Federal Officer for the Consumer and Governmental Affairs Bureau.
