It uses a 250-watt FM translator covering much of the Huntsville, Ala., metropolitan area, even parts of Decatur.
Soon, it will no longer be the home of an iHeartMedia “ALT”-branded modern rock presentation relaying broadcasts found on the HD3 signal of Class C2 WQRT-FM “100.3 The River.”
That’s because the FM translator’s licensee is selling the facility to Educational Media Foundation.

In a deal agreed to on November 3 and filed with the Commission on December 1, Red Mountain Broadcasting has signed off on the sale of W225AH at 92.9 MHz in Huntsville, Ala.
It uses a tower leased from Boca Raton, Fla.-based Vertical Bridge, and pending regulatory approval will be the latest property owned by EMF.
A $145,000 purchase price has been agreed upon; a $7,250 deposit has been made by EMF.
Under an LMA, W225AH has been “ALT 92.9” since September 2018. Once the deal closes, it will become an Air1 network member, relaying the signal of WHVK-FM 103.5 HD2 in New Hope, Ala. The HD1 signal is home to the KLOVE network.
