Educational Media Foundation is moving forward with the acquisition of another FM radio station, adding to a group of properties that makes the Christian Contemporary Music giant the second-largest licensee of radio stations in the U.S.
Only, this deal is hardly a surprise. It’s purchase an affiliate of its Worship Music noncommercial network.
From Cleveland, Tenn., and serving the eastern portion of the Chattanooga metro is WSAA-FM 93.1, a Class A.
It is being acquired by EMF from WSAA LLC, led by Thomas Cashman.
The transaction is valued at $550,000, and a $27,500 escrow deposit has been made to Cashman by EMF.
A plan is in place that would see EMF file a Construction Permit with the FCC that allows it to relocate the WSAA transmitter. It is not clear at this time if this will increase WSAA’s coverage of Chattanooga.
Cashman’s legal counsel in this transaction was Sciarrino & Shubert’s Dawn Sciarrino.
As has been the case across most EMF transactions, Wilkinson Barker Knauer’s Paige Fronabarger served as its legal counsel.
