In 2018, Jeff Holub was promoted after five years as Director of Creative Services at Meredith Local Media’s WGCL-46 — the CBS affiliate serving Atlanta — to Station Manager. This followed a lengthy run at Cox Media Group.

Now, Holub is moving to Greenville-Spartanburg, S.C., where its longtime News Director rises to Station Manager. Holub will be this Meredith talent’s new boss.

Starting May 18, Holub will serve as VP/GM of WHNS-TV, branded as “FOX Carolina,” moving from WGCL and WPCH-17, which he has also overseen.

At FOX Carolina, he will oversee a team that now sees 12-year News Director Kelly Boan rise to Station Manager.

A successor for Holub has not been disclosed.

Meredith Local Media Group President Patrick McCreery said, “Jeff has been an outstanding leader in Atlanta for nearly seven years. His creative and strategic thinking has been critical to the conception and development of several major station initiatives at WGCL including ‘Books to Kids,’ which has provided more than 52,000 books to children in the Atlanta metro area. I am thrilled to see Jeff move into the VP and General Manager role in Greenville.”

Prior to joining WGCL, Holub spent 17 years with CMG. This included roles as Director of Marketing at KTVU-2 and KICU-36 in San Francisco, and as Promotion Manager and Sports Marketing Director at WAXN-64 and WSOC-9 in Charlotte.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead the talented team at WHNS FOX Carolina,” Holub said. “I look forward to building upon FOX Carolina’s legacy of success by creating outstanding news, weather, sports and entertainment content for our on-air and online audiences, and value for our advertising clients.”

Boan, who joined WHNS in 2006 as Assistant News Director, said, “Local stations have never been more important to their communities. I love Greenville and it has been an honor to lead the FOX Carolina newsroom. I am proud of this team and its dedication to serving our audiences. I am excited to take on this new role and expanded leadership position.”
