In March 2019, High Plains Radio Network completed its purchase of an FM licensed to Farwell, Tex., serving the Clovis, N. Mex., area. and an AM in Amarillo, Tex., with an FM translator as part of a six-asset acquisition from Tejas Broadcasting.
Now, the entity headed by Monte Spearman is spinning the AM, FM and translator to a broadcast ministry.
Christian Ministries of the Valley has agreed to purchase KICA-FM 98.3 in Farwell, Tex.; KZIP-AM 1310 in Amarillo, a Class D facility; and FM translator K224EF from HPRN.
The buyer is headed by Enrique Garza, who has several radio stations in Texas.
Details were not available at press time; a Form 314 filing with the FCC is expected to be made on Feb. 18.
Bill Whitley of the Dallas office of Media Services Group served as the exclusive broker for this transaction, representing HPRN.
Whitley also served as the broker of record on HPRN’s purchase of the stations, which included Class C3 KKYC-FM 102.3 and Class C2 KKNM-FM 96.5 in Bovine, Tex.; Class C2 KGRW-FM 94.7 in Friona, Tex.
