The Texas Panhandle is home to a broadcast ministry offering Christian Talk & Teaching programs across six full-power FMs in the Lone Star State, in addition to an FM in New Mexico and an FM in Oklahoma.
This non-commercial operator also has 7 FM translators in Texas and one in Oklahoma in use.
Now, an FM located far to the south of its other stations is being cast away.
Kingdom Keys Radio is the brand used by Class A KDNZ-FM 97.3 in Pecos, Tex., owned by Top O’ Texas Educational Broadcasting Foundation.
This has given Kingdom Keys an over-the-air home to the far southwest of Odessa-Midland, and had expanded its footprint beyond the Texas Panhandle.
Now, Kingdom Keys is refocusing its efforts on its main broadcast area by selling KDNZ for $16,200. A $1,200 deposit has been made, with the remainder to be paid in cash at closing.
The buyer is Route 66 Media, the licensee of KSNZ-FM in Shamrock, KJAG-FM in Guthrie, and KXNZ-FM in Wheeler, Tex.; and KHNZ-FM in Memphis, Tex.
Route 66’s principals are Gary Ware and James Turvaville, as 60/40 partners.
